Kyrgyz wrestlers won three medals in the first competition day
September 2, in the village of Baktuu-Dolonotu (Issyk-Kul region) the III World Games of nomads started. On the first competition day of the tournament, 3 sets of medals were played in the competitions in the Tajik national wrestling (gushtini milli kamarbandi). The tournament was attended by 27 athletes from 11 countries.
Kyrgyzstan was represented in all three weight categories (up to 68 kg, up to 82 kg and absolute weight category). As a result of the fights of the preliminary round, two Kyrgyz wrestlers made their way to the finals, another one got the opportunity to fight for bronze medal.
In the final fight of the weight category up to 68 kg, the Kyrgyz Marlen Abdrasulov got along with Begench Yagmurov from Turkmenistan. The fight ended with the victory of Abdrasulov and he won the gold medal of the tournament. In the final protocol of this weight category, athletes from Kazakhstan and Russia took the 3rd place.
In the final fight in the weight category up to 82 kg, Kyrgyz citizen Sherikbay Amanilla uulu was opposed by the representative of the Russian Federation Arthur Zulkarnaev. The Russian guy turned out to be stronger than his opponent and won the gold medal.
Kairat Toychiev won the third medal for Kyrgyzstan in the absolute weight category. The gold medal in this weight category was won by athlete from Turkmenistan Annamurat Muradov.
