More than 3000 people Have Visited the Festival of Sand Sculptures in Issyk-Kul

A festival of sand sculptures called “Magical Sand” has attracted more than three thousand people since its opening.

The festival takes place from August 25 in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul as part of the World Nomad Games 2016.

At the festival, 14 sculptors from Kyrgyzstan, 6 from Kazakhstan and 1 from Uzbekistan, plus others who have the skills necessary for sand sculpting, have shown their work on the themes of “World Nomad Games”, “25 years of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic” and “Year of History and Culture of Kyrgyzstan”.

As reported by organizers, as part of the festival there is a children’s area, where young visitors can independently build sculptures and castles from sand.

The festival will be accompanied by an ethno-concert with performances from famous stars, talented groups and folklore ensembles.

The event will continue to the end of September of this year.
