Festival of Sand Sculptures Will Take Place at Lake Issyk-Kul as Part of World Nomad Games
A festival of sand sculptures, called “Magical Sand”, will take place for the first time in Kyrgyzstan August 25th in Cholpon-Ata, Lake Issyk-Kul, as part of the World Nomad Games.
At the festival, sculptors from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, plus others who have the skills necessary for sand sculpting, will show their work on the themes of “World Nomad Games”, “25 Years of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic”, and “Year of History and Culture of Kyrgyzstan”.
As reported by the organizers, there will also be a children’s area, where young visitors can independently build sculptures and castles from sand.
The festival will be accompanied by an ethno-concert with performances from famous starts, talented groups, and folklore ensembles.
The event will continue to the end of September of this year.
