“Nomad’s Universe” Folklore Festival will Take Place from September 4-7 in Kyrchyn Gorge
As part of the upcoming Second World Nomad Games, the “Nomad’s Universe” Folklore Festival will take place from September 4th through 7th, 2016, in Kyrchyn Gorge.
Khan-Ordo will become the central area (central ordo) of the ethno-village where the colorful folklore festival will take place.
The program of the “Nomad’s Universe” festival will be eventful and diverse. There will be performances of ethno-folkloric musicians and talented groups, solo performers, akyn improvisers, manaschy (who recite the Epic of Manas), as well as the arrival of the Chinese cultural caravan and displays of national clothing. Guests of the ethno-village can enjoy concerts from the musicians of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov and theater presentations from the cultural delegations of Bishkek, Osh, and all the oblasts of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Ensemble of Peoples of the Kyrgyz Republic is preparing their own program and public enterprises. Representatives of foreign cultural delegations will also be able to demonstrate their own national customs, traditions and culture.
At the same time, in “Kyrgyz Village” there will also be competitions in different enterprises, including between akyn-improvisers, manaschy, and masters of traditional applied arts.
A competition and demonstration of traditional clothing and food has been organized especially for guests. Representatives from the oblasts will also compete to see who is the fastest at constructing a yurt.
Not less memorable or striking will be the sporting competitions of the festival.
The Second World Nomad Games will take place from September 3rd through 8th, 2016, at Lake Issyk-Kul. The program includes spectacular sporting competitions in 23 different kinds of traditional sports, “Nomad’s Universe” folklore festival, as well as other cultural and sporting events, which will take place in the Hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata, as well as in the picturesque Kyrchyn Gorge and in the Health and Wellness Center.
