Program Approved for Folklore Festival “Nomad’s Universe” in Kyrchyn

The program for the folklore festival “Nomad’s Universe” has been approved. The festival will take place as part of the World Nomad Games in Kyrchyn Gorge, from September 4-7, 2016.

The official opening of “Nomad’s Universe” will take place in Kyrchyn Gorge at 15:00 on September 4th, 2016.

On this day, the “Kyrgyz Village” will open its doors for all who wish to visit and will admit visitors for free with warmth and hospitality, and will offer them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of traditional nomadic life of the Kyrgyz people.

The program of the festival is filled with unique events. There will be performances of ethno-folklore music and dance groups, solo performers, akyn-improvisors, manaschy (who recite the Epic of Manas), the arrival of a Chinese caravan, and a show of traditional clothing. Guests of the ethno-village will enjoy theatrical performances by cultural delegations from Bishkek, Osh, and all of the regions of the Republic. Representatives of foreign delegations will also present their national customs, traditions, and culture.

In the squares of “Kyrgyz Village” there will be competitions in different areas of the program, including between akyn-improvisors, manaschy, and masters of applied arts.

There will also be competitions in national clothing and national cuisine for guests to enjoy. Representatives of the regions of Kyrgyzstan will compete to find out who can fastest construct a yurt.

Sporting competitions held in traditional types of sports will leave no less of an impression on guests.

17:00-18:30 – Performance of “Ala-Too Aiymdary”

10:00-13:00 – Performances from folklore collectives, conclusion of competitions, distribution of prizes and diplomas

14:00-16:00 – Concluding concert of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonia named after T. Satylganov

The Second World Nomad Games will take place at Lake Issyk-Kul from September 3rd through 8th, 2016.
