Armwrestling

Armrestling is a kind of wrestling between two participants. In arm wrestling, athletes fight standing at a special table. Their elbows abut on pillows. The winner is the one who first makes reach the hand (palm) of rival out to the cushion. Competitions are held on both the right and the left hand.

It is the oldest sport that was revived in the 1960s of the XX century.

 

ARMWRESTLING – national competition.

Composition of the team – 8 people: 6 athletes (4 men and 2 women), 2 coaches.

Athletes older than 18 are not allowed to take part in competitions. Right handed and left handed competitions are held for both men and women. In all weight categories a maximum of 1 athlete is allowed. Weight categories:
- among men: up to 75 kg, up to 95 kg, up to 105 kg, over 105 kg;
- among women: up to 75 kg, over 75 kg.

Competitions are held in accordance with a drop-out system after two defeats.

Competitions are held under the current rules of the World Armwrestling Federation.
